Vassilios Vougioukas is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery (Privatdozent) at the University of Freiburg (Germany), Doctor of the Medical School of the University of Göttingen (Germany) and Director of the Neurosurgery Clinic with a special focus on Minimally Invasive Brain and Spine Surgery at the Athens Medical Center (Maroussi-Psychiko). Since September 2020 he has been in charge of the Neurosurgery Department of the Osteon Clinic.

After basic training (1999-2005) in Neurosurgery at the University Clinics of Berlin and Freiburg, he was Chief Physician (Oberarzt) and Head of the Department of Minimally Invasive Brain and Spine Surgery at the University Clinic of Freiburg (2005-2010). Since 2007 he has been Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Freiburg.
