Vassilios I. Sakellariou

Vassilios I. Sakellariou is the head of the Department of Reconstructive & Minimally Invasive Hip – Knee Surgery at “OSTEON” Orthopedic Clinic and has a PhD from University of Athens Medical School. At the same time, he is the Director of the Orthopedic Clinic at Athens Medical Center (Marousi), and specializes in the areas of Adult Reconstructive Surgery & Large Joint Surgery.
 
He specializes in the most contemporary and innovative arthroscopic methods and minimally invasive surgery of the largest joints of the body, hip and knee.
 
In particularly, he has served as a fellow at orthopedics department at Mayo Clinic, in Rochester (Minnesota), USA, and also worked as a salaried clinical fellow in the field of Adult Reconstructive Surgery – Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery, in New York. He has also served as a Clinical Fellow of the 1st Orthopedic Clinic of Athens University.
 
In 2011 he received his Ph.D degree from University of Athens, graded with ‘Excellent’, while in the same year he received his master’s degree (Msc) in Metabolic Bone Diseases after two years of attendance and the completion of his master’s thesis graded with “excellent”.
 
From September 2013 until 2015, after an election process from the Medical School of Athens, he served as a salaried university fellow with specialization in the hip & knee surgery at 1st Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Athens, at ATTIKON University General Hospital.
